Hello! My name is Caleb Timm and I’m a decathlete from Canada who’s a senior/grade 12 student at Bluevale Collegiate Institute in Waterloo, Ontario. I’d appreciate the honor and opportunity of growing my athletics skills through competing as part of a US college track and field program. To me, this would be the fulfillment of a dream I've had since I started track and field back in grade 6.
This season I had a personal best in the decathlon of 5761 as part of Team Ontario for the Canadian Youth Track and Field National Championships capturing the bronze medal in the U18 division. In addition I competed at the New Balance Outdoor Nationals in Greensboro NC in June though I must confess I wasn't feeling well so the meet went poorly. A highlight of my high school season, since we don't do the dec, was finishing as the top grade 11 (Junior) pole vaulter at our OFSAA Provincial high school championships. As a result of this and based on my provincial championship in indoor pentathlon I was named an 'All-Ontarian' by Athletics Ontario in the Combined Events for 2018.
Last summer I competed in the decathlon for the first time. At the Canadian Youth Track and Field Championships I placed 2nd as the only 16 year old in the competition competing as part of Team Ontario with a score of 5634 points. This broke the Ontario provincial U17 decathlon. record As a result I had the honor of being named Athletics Ontario Combined Events Male Youth Athlete of the Year.
I’m a member of Laurel Creek Track and Field Club in Waterloo (http://www.laurelcreektrackclub.com/), My coach is Chris Timm and he can be reached at [email protected] or 519-716-7290.
While track and field is important to me academics and school/community involvement is as well so I have been an honor roll student each of my first three years. In addition, I served this year on our student government as head of the Athletics Council and had the privilege of being a spirit leader for the Canadian Student Leadership Conference held in September in Waterloo. I'm an active member of our church and lead one of our youth praise teams.
I am registered with the NCAA Eligibility Center. and have written my SAT. I’d be happy to speak to you further about my athletics accomplishments and would consider it an honor to be considered for your school. Thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope to hear from you when convenient.
