My mom is one of the biggest influences in my life, she is a huge runner and the whole reason why I got into track, but more importantly she's always looking out for me. I was in seventh grade and my cousin just won state for the second time in a row and getting ready to sign with BYU. I really wanted to be like her, and that's when I fell in love with the sport. I didn't realize it before but I am one of the few people who are never taking short cuts, and continually try to push myself. I had a 3.5 GPA but sadly my grandma passed right before finals and my grades dropped, so for right now my goal is to go back to a 3.5 and hopefully higher. With college I hope I can continue to increase with my academics. With everyone, we all go through trials or obstacles. When I encounter mine I first try to evaluate the situation, and then work my way around it or through it. With all honesty what I think separates me from anyone else is my "engine" I realized I don't stop, and I can always keep on pushing myself. At this level you almost need a good work ethic and I definitely feel like that's one of my top attributes. I have been captain or leader with whatever team I have been on in high school, from soccer to track I know how to lead, and with all these leadership roles I realized a good leader had to be able to, take input and make it effective. I know I have potential and all I'm looking for is the right fit to really bring out all of the best in me.
