My aspiration is to make it to the Olympic trials and ideally make the Olympic team. During high school, I was a multi-sport athlete. I participated in football, wrestling, baseball and my senior year thanks to my coaches and Athletic Director, was able to participated in both baseball and track and field. Through hard work and dedication, I have two wresting State titles, a 2nd and 3rd place finish. I was also part of three State finishing baseball teams my sophomore, junior and senior as an outfielder/catcher.
While I initially thought I was going to pursue baseball in college and beyond, I found out my senior year in high school that I excelled in throwing the javelin and ended up winning state with a throw of 197.7 feet. I have since then been able to participate in one meet at the Junior College level, on March 7, 2020 where I threw 65.6 meters at my first track meet at Linfield College. I am interested in seeing how can I utilize my skills in competing in javelin and multi's. My current coaches believe I would fall around the 6000 level decathlete, but with some coaching and training, believe I can go farther.
I ultimately would like to pursue a career in coaching or related field and plan on majoring in sports management. Academically, like sports, I have had to work hard to achieve my goals. I set a goal to graduate High School with above a 3.5 g.p.a and did so. I also have a strong value to giving back to my community and have spent time coaching various sports including wrestling, baseball and track.
