Hello, my name is Dylon Lovely. I am a Senior at Sherwood High School in the state of Oregon. Some things I would like people to know about me are my values. There a couple important values I try to live by in order to become a positive community member and just a good stand up kind of guy: 1. Integrity - Integrity is something that my father has instilled in me from a young age. There is something to say about doing what you say and saying what you do. Having this value for me helps me to stay focused on what I need to do. Having integrity I think builds trust in relationships with my friends, teammates and coaches. 2. Discipline and Hard Work. I think it is important to always be under control and know what course your actions are taking you in. Working hard gets you vested in what you are doing and with this makes the reward so much more. One quote I really like is “If it is obvious you cannot reach your goals, don't abandon your goals change your actions.” by Confucius. Things might not always go in the path you expected them to go. So this quote reminds me to constantly reassess to ensure that what I am doing will make me reach my goals and be as successful as possible.
My goals I am striving for are 1. Achieve a 3.8-4.0 cumulative GPA in high school. 2. Make my way up to varsity team, be a starter and impact the game and 3. Obtain an academic and athletic scholarship to go to and play for a University.
Basketball has been a passion of mine probably since the 5th grade. I started playing in Kindergarten with my friends. I loved it! As the years went on I really developed a love for the game. The better I got, and the harder competition I came against - the more fun playing basketball was!! I standout as a very intense and quick defender. I'm known to disrupt the best point guards across from me and their offensive game. I contribute and greatly impact the game with my defense and I take a lot a pride in that! To tell you the truth, it's a lot of fun! I can facilitate the floor and score when I need to. I am a strong ball handler and can handle it under pressure. I have grown a lot with the experience playing AAU Division 1 basketball. I typically have anywhere from 5 - 8 steals or forced turnovers in a game. I strive to get better everyday and continue to excel in all areas of the game.
I also run Track. Currently I have the fastest time for the last two years at my high school. My Junior year season I placed 13th at States for the 100M and 16th for the 200M. Looking forward to another great season this year. Right now I’m at a Division 2 or 1 with my times
Last thing I'd like you to know about me is that my family is very important to me in my life. They all support me in everything I do and have given me so many opportunities to help me thrive. I am able to seek guidance and support when needed. This helps me to stay grounded and feel secure. My Christian faith is very important to me. I do all things for God and through God.
What I am looking for in a program is a team that I can contribute to, a team that needs my skill set and will believe in me to lead them, be a contributor and know that I have their backs under difficult circumstances.
Thank you for viewing my profile. I hope to hear from you.
