Being a part of my sophomore district meet and shaving almost 60 seconds off my personal best at the time has been a highlight of my journey as a cross country athlete. However, the drive that I have in me today as a junior to make it to the Pennsylvania state championship meet is what pushes me on a daily basis. I constantly remind myself, both in the classroom and on the course, why I give my all day in and day out. My efforts have been refocused, as a now varsity runner, and I strive to give everything I can in my academics and training in hopes of being set apart from other runners.
I have been dedicated to the Chambersburg Cross Country program for five years now. Over the course of those five years my times have consistently improved from season to season, and both myself and my coaches believe that I have even more to offer. The difference between the Karter of today and the seventh grade me is simple; I have learned to be coachable both on and off the course. Additionally, I make every effort to be devoted to my teammates, consistent in my training, mentally tough, and be the best leader I can be for my team and my coaches. I always strive to lead the pack whether it's leading in a race or serving as a model character to both my teammates and opponents. One thing that has remained the same since my seventh grade season is my utmost dedication to my teammates, my coaches, the sport, and myself. I lead by example and work hard to make proud all of the people who have helped shape me into the person and athlete I am today. I am excited to make an impact collegiately. I am looking for a program that values unity, character, and leadership. If excellence and a strong work ethic is what you stand for I would be a perfect fit for your program.
