I am a sophomore who has played many sports over the years. Starting all the way back with BMX, then transitioning into baseball, then basketball and tennis. From these sports I found my love for running. I joined my middle school 8th grade cross country team after a fun 7th grade track year, and quickly raised to the top of my school. Although with minimum knowledge of running, I was not able to shine as much as I could have. Since then, I have finished my freshman year of cross country and I am in the middle of my sophomore season now. During my freshman year, I was overloaded with sports and burnt out after producing an 18:57 5k. My sophomore year, however, with little training over the summer, I debuted with a 18:51, and so I set a goal to get 18:29 by the end of the season, not knowing what I was capable of doing with the correct training. I have, since then, ran a 17:55 in a month of training, and I am looking forward to shaving off even more time as we approach the end of the season. While my times are not anything impressive now, I believe my athletic ability and motivation to improve will push me to the top by my senior year, and with my rate of improvement, I'll be in the top of the state.
