The most important thing any coach needs to know about me is that I am a competitor. I have been playing organized sports since I was five years old when I started with both baseball and basketball. Since then I have been in love with competition, whether it's been against my older brother in the driveway or a Friday night football game under the lights. I have always known I wanted to be a college athlete, but until I reached high school I was uncertain which sport I wanted to pursue. I am a three sport varsity athlete and have been a starter and will be a senior captain for football, basketball, and track. My experience across these three sports has given me the chance to compete with different kinds of teammates and to grow as both a teammate and a leader. During this time I've grown to enjoy the environment and community of track and field the most. Being able to compete directly with my teammates every day in practice as well as in meets has given me a 'next-level' appreciation for the caliber of work it takes to be my best, especially in technical events. I believe this drive sets me apart from many recruits who may be able to rely on natural athletic ability more than hard work. My ultimate goal is to continue to work on myself as a competitor and a leader in track and field while also obtaining my college education.
