Issa El '23 Recruiting Profile

I am a transfer senior at Mastery Charter Thomas Campus, in Philadelphia, PA. I was first introduced to track in 8th grade by my parents.  I felt that the sport was a good fit for me as I like the challenges that it presented.   I began to take the sport seriously my sophomore year and the pandemic halted all activates. I continued training on my own, hoping to put my hard work in to action whenever competition would resume.   I had to transfer schools due to some hardships but became more focused and determined to be the best student and athlete I could be.  My goal is to compete at the highest level and to become the greatest version of myself in and out of the classroom.  My leadership, drive, work ethic and sportsmanship are traits that my coaches identified in my sophomore year, garnering me the honor of being team captain. I carried those same traits to my new school and have earned the same honor.   I believe that I would make a good candidate for your team, because I know how overcome adversity, be a good teammate, and work hard to represent the institution that I would wear proudly on my chest.  Life does not happen to you it only show you who you are.
