My name is William (Willie) Waerig, and I'm currently a junior in high school. My main events are the 800 (PR of 1:59.61) and 4x400 (51 split). It's been a goal of mine to run at the collegiate level for as long as I can remember. My dedication and hard work both on the track and in the classroom are what set me apart from other recruits. I'm highly coachable, and while I focus on the 400 and 800, I'm able to contribute to a wide range of events and am willing to run whatever I'm asked to. My passion for track and the urge to always perform my best is what drives my hard work that I put into every single practice. My work ethic often motivates my teammates as well, and I've been the captain of my team since sophomore year. I've been running track since 6th grade and have been competing at big meets for a long time, so I know how to race at a high level. I'm grateful to any coach who is interested in having me on their team, and I hope I can run at a program that helps me improve both on and off the track.
