Hello, my name is Devin Eure, and I was born in Suffolk, Virginia, the middle child with a total of two brothers and three sisters. I lived in Virginia until 2013 when I moved to Pennsylvania with my mom, stepdad, and sister. My determination, confidence, and competitiveness have always been my driving force. I instantly fell in love with football after watching an Eagles game one night, but I wanted to learn how to run faster, which enticed me to try out for track. I quickly realized how helpful it was to make me quicker but never realized how good I would be with Track and Field until my second season in it. I realized that I have a natural talent for both Track and Field and Football, which boosts my mental confidence. Recently, in October 2021, at the back end of my football season, I had to overcome the obstacle of breaking my collarbone. This was a painful experience, physically and mentally. I was determined to be at each practice and game to cheer my team on, even though I wanted nothing more than to be on the field next to them. I was determined to do all the things I needed to heal, so I could get back on the field and be ready to start when Track and Field began, and I did it. My doctor said he had never seen anyone, even my age, naturally heal so well, without surgery, as I did. Within the last six years of playing sports, I learned I have a unique gift of speed and field of vision. I see my openings and mentally calculate how to maneuver around any hurdle. I like to push myself for better, and outside of sports, I pushed myself even more by taking four honors classes; and currently in my second year of engineering and will be taking two AP classes next year. I have a love for history and learning everything I can about the American War and Military history, but one subject I especially do well in is mostly mathematics curriculums, taking geometry and Algebra 2 currently, which is why I am passionate about studying Civil Engineering in college.
