I am 5'9 and weigh 160lb. I am currently a senior in Puerto Rico and graduate spring the of 2019. With Hurricane Maria and the passing of my coach, my training was put at odds, while all tracks on the island were closed. I was still able to persevere and as a captain for both my high school varsity Cross Country/Track and Field team and my club, help them reach league finals and nationals. With minimal training due to infrastructure circumstances I was still able to perform in the 400m, 800m and Cross country races, winning the high school league at 11th grade in the 400m with a time of 50.56s, improving my pr in 800m in nationals to 1:56.10s, and getting 3rd out of over 100 students in the Cross Country 5k.
I am looking for a school that will help foster my ability as an athlete in the highest level possible as well as my academic career. The last years following my mother's breast cancer, Hurricane Maria and the passing of my coach I have learned that I am willing and determined to be every day at practice and class allowing me to become the most prosperous student and athlete I can be. Whatever effort you put in me I will double it on the track and in the classroom.
My family will be applying for financial help. I have a dream about competing at the highest athletic level in college and nothing will distract me from that goal because I know that I will be successful if I put the work in.
