Jacob Serra '22 Recruiting Profile

Sports have been part of my life for as long as I can remember though, I would never think that at this point in my life I would be pursuing Track and Cross Country. I was a soccer player from birth, a sport I thought I would be playing for many years after school however, this all changed when I got cut from the middle school soccer team and got introduced to running. When High School started I went back to Soccer and was able to make the varsity team as a freshman which for many would be very exciting but for me, it truly wasn’t. My heart was in running, I had developed a drive and discipline from this sport which has made it one of the biggest factors in my life. Running collegiately has been a major goal of mine after seeing many athletes before myself go on to the next level and explain to me how exciting it was playing a sport at college.  

Outside of Track and Cross Country, I am very passionate in the classroom with my grades being equally if not more important to me than athletics. I enjoy challenging myself with the classes I take preparing for the curriculum at the next level. As a Student-Athlete, I strive to be well rounded which I have accomplished by participating in clubs that enlighten different interests of mine and speaking out for my grade by being the class president.
