Hi, my name is Brandon Chilagan. I am currently in grade 12, enrolled in the Health and Sciences Academy at Bishop James Mahoney High School in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. As a Health and Sciences Academy student, I will be taking multiple post-secondary classes and receiving post-secondary credits before high school graduation. The classes I have taken so far and will be taking are:
Grade 10
Medical Terminology 180 through Saskpolytech achieving a 98%
Grade 11
Anatomy 100 through Saskpolytech achieving a 99%
Interpersonal Communications 291 through Saskpolytech achieving a 91%
Grade 12
Biology 120.3 through the University of Saskatchewan
Calculus 110 through the University of Saskatchewan
I am a passionate learner, hoping one day to get into Medical school and become a Clinical Geneticist. I have been on the honor roll in both grade 9 and 10, achieving an average of 95% in grade 9 and 96% in grade 10, and strive to always keep my marks in the mid to high 90's. I have also been part of my school's Student Representative Government, being voted in as a grade representative in grade 9, 10, and now 11, and won the grade 10 leadership award at my school. Outside of school and track, I work as a swimming lesson instructor and lifeguard at the University of Saskatchewan, and also as a pool attendant at the Sheraton Cavalier.
In regards to track and field, my goal for the upcoming 2020 track season is to remain ranked near the top of Canada, compete at the national level and achieve a new personal best of 4.40m. My long term goals include joining and being part of a successful university track and field team, continuing to increase my personal best with a goal of eventually breaking the 5-meter mark.
