I love running. It's what I am good at. I've been a part of my high school varsity team since 6th grade. I have been running in cross country practice since 5th grade. I asked to run in practice so I could be prepared to run on the team in 6th grade. I've been running ever since.
I am easily coachable, my Coach will tell you, and I work hard to be the best athlete I can be by working out in the off-season and challenging myself to run on my own for longer distances and compete in some fun 10k and 5k road races. I like to help others be his or her best runner, too, and I often ask my teammates to join me on separate runs in the off-season as well.
Academically, I enjoy History as my best subject and I was asked by my History teacher to teach a class myself on WWII weaponry. It went very well and I hope to double-major or major/minor in Homeland Security and History and another subject such as Military Science. I also have volunteered at Historic Brattonsville and learned some hands-on 18th and 19th century skills in blacksmithing, woodworking, and gardening.
I would like to run in college, not just for the potential scholarship to help fund my education, but also because I just love to run and be part of a team that loves running.
I completed 9th grade at Walnut Grove Christian School but recently have moved and will attend Fort Mill High School in 10th grade and going forward. I am excited to be running for the FMHS Yellowjackets and I am grateful for the experience and learning to love to run at Walnut Grove, where I attended since 3rd grade.
