My freshman year, a new teacher/coach at my school (who ran track in college) suggested I come and run track for him. He taught me high jump, long jump, sprinting, hurdling, javelin, shot and disc. I could do them all pretty well after a year and really loved doing it, so he suggested I train to be a decathlete (or at least a multi-event athlete). I stopped playing soccer after my freshman year and focused on track. I came to realize that my 8 years in club soccer as a goal keeper seemed to also prepare me for Track & Field - type events as well. I have qualified for the state championship the last two years in two events.
I would love to be a part of your track team and compete at the collegiate level. With the help and support of teammates and coaches, I would love to see just how far I can go in track and field. I am team player. I am always open to learning new things, new techniques, etc. I am disciplined and I am a hard worker. I am very comfortable athlete. I am supportive of me teammates and respectful of my coaches.
