My name is Jonathan Kelley, student athlete from Beaufort South Carolina. I'm passionate about track and field. Ever since I laced up my first pair of spikes, I've been hooked on the thrill of racing and the pursuit of excellence. From attacking the curve on the 200m, exploding out the blocks in the 100m, handing off the baton to the second leg in the 4/100m, flying off the board in long jump to soaring over the hurdles, track has become a fundamental part of who I am. I've had the privilege of representing Whale Branch Early College High School in various competitions, earning podium finishes and setting personal and school records along the way. These achievements have driven my desire to take my athletic journey to the next level and compete collegially. I'm a coachable student athlete. I welcome any instruction and constructive criticism from my coaches. I use their advice to perfect my craft. I want to be the best student athlete that I can be. Although I enjoy placing and receiving awards, however it doesn't stop there. Track and field has taught me valuable life lessons about discipline, perseverance, and teamwork. I've learned to push myself beyond my limits both physically and mentally. I have also had the opportunity to be a leader on and off the track, winning class king 2 years in a row by school vote and also playing a main role in being a Principles Ambassador. Looking ahead, my dream goal is to compete at the collegiate level, represent my college with pride, win outdoor and indoor NCAA championships as a team and individually in multiple events. I also have a desire to have the opportunity to participate in the Olympics someday. I'm committed to putting in the hard work and making necessary sacrifices to reach my goals.
