As a athlete my parents have had a great impact on who I am today. They raised me to go 100% with everything I do, and never give up on anything. In the times I've seemed to stray or get off track they have reminded me of the principles they instilled upon me. I first became interested in track in the 5th grade. I remember watching the 200m dash at 11 years old from the Summer Olympics when I said that I want that to be me. After my first track meet I began to fall in love with track. In the 7 years that I have ran track I have learned that I have a lot of heart, self-discipline, determination and a strong mind. I have instilled discipline on my mind and body everyday on depending on my hard work. In the light of that it has gotten me where I am today. My academic goals for finishing my high school career are to maintain and finish with a 3.2. My goals for for college are to get a 4 year degree in sports medicine. In my track career I have not only had to persevere but overcome many obstacles. In spite of spraining my meniscus early on 10th grade year I still managed to continue on and finish my sophomore year strong. Characterizing myself I would love to say my passion for track is derived from wanting to take care of my mother so that she doesn’t have to work again.
