Thank you for viewing my profile.
I am a senior this year at Kingwood High School in Kingwood, Texas. Currently, I am 6’4”, 245 lbs. with a 3.42 GPA. My events are shot put and discus. Although my 2020 Varsity season was cut short due to COVID-19, I am a returning letterman this season. I was on pace to win the 2020 Varsity 22-6A shot put and compete in the area finals. Also, I was on the 2019 Texas 22 – 6A Football All-District Academic team. I am the 2018 Texas 22 - 6A Freshman Shot Put District Champion.
One of my goals is to be a thrower on a college track team. I have trained hard to ensure that I will be successful in track. I work with private trainers and coaches and spend many days in the weight room. Every time I train, I work to be the best.
In July of 2020, I was participating in summer drills for my high school football team. During one drill, I felt something happen to my throwing shoulder. I felt a huge pain go through my right arm. I couldn’t lift it up. An MRI showed that I had some damage in the socket of my throwing shoulder. The doctor recommended surgery and that I would be in rehabilitation for six months. This was one of the scariest moments in my life. I chose to have the surgery.
I have learned to be patient and thorough in my workouts. It also confirmed my desire to have a career in the field of health sciences. I am interested in how the body reacts to strength and conditioning and helping others to become physically fit. This experience will allow me to help others.
This is only part of what makes me a passionate and hard-working person. My experiences have taught me how to persevere and prepare for my future. Since the surgery, my desire for college has grown. I want to prove to myself and others that I will be the best and can do anything I set my mind to. I am very excited about this track season. I am ready.
I look forward to hearing from you soon.
