My athletic goal is to compete at an elite program so that I can become a better athlete and do my part to help my team succeed.
I started running at a very young age with my mom. We ran a 5K as a family when I was 4 years old and I finished 1st in the under 9 division with a time of 37:34 and that is when I realized I loved running. I competed in four more 5K's before my fifth birthday with a PR time of 33:27. I have competed competitively in several sports over my life from tee-ball to travel team soccer, baseball, basketball, and track. Our family vacations usually revolve around some type of camp or tournament. I love individual sports and team sports. I enjoy the mental toughness it requires, the discipline, and the friends you make on a team. I can't imagine not participating in some type of training everyday and learning how to make myself better. My mom is a teacher, so academics has always been a priority in our family. I completed high school credits in junior high on my own, registered for AP and Pre-AP classes my freshman year and have plans to complete extra classes during the summers of HS. My dad has instilled a strong work-ethic in my brother and I and I think that is why I am self-motivated to work and succeed. I am interested in majoring in sports management or sports communication/media with a minor in math/statistics because I would like to be involved in helping manage college or professional team one day.
