Jake Colangelo '16 Recruiting Profile

My name is Jake Colangelo, I am a committed athlete and student at West High School in Salt Lake City, Utah.  I am currently enrolled in the International Baccalaureate program and I maintain a 3.48 GPA.  This year as a junior, I have worked harder than I ever have, achieving a GPA of 3.7 for 3 straight terms.

My freshman and sophomore year, I played three sports, cross-country, basketball and track.  My junior year has been different, I have fully committed myself to the sport of running.  I now train year round with my head cross-country and track coaches with hopes to further improve my season.  Not only have I drastically improved the past three years, I know I can better myself in the future.

This year, I was the captain of the cross-country team and of the track team, and have been chosen to be the captain for cross-country next season.  Not only am I a leader on the course, I am a leader off the course as well.  I plan on running for a student government position, which will be instated my senior year.

With my combination of strong athletics, intense dedication and a devotion to leadership, I think I am a strong candidate to run at the next level.
