Over my 10+ years of running Cross Country and Track, I have found a passion and a drive to make myself the best runner I can be. There is nothing more important to me than leadership. I believe that a team is only as strong as its weakest link and that a leader is not defined by their title but by their actions. I strive to demonstrate a good work ethic, a positive attitude, and a drive to make myself better every day, both on and off the course. In my free time, I enjoy coaching, guiding, and mentoring younger and up-and-coming athletes In both Track and Cross Country. I volunteer as a coach in both Club cross country and track as well as mentor athletes ranging from elementary to high school, one on one to help them achieve their own personal goals. One quote I live by is,
“He who serves the most grows the fastest. I will become a humble servant I will not look for someone to open my door- I will look to open the door for someone else” - Andy Andrews’ The seven decisions
I am not afraid to admit that school has been difficult for me since I can remember. I struggled to focus in class and comprehending what I was being taught. I tried everything to help me in school with no success. I was introduced to running at the age of 7 and started training for my first 5k right away. Over the course of my training, my attention drastically improved and my grades started looking up. Running provided me with the mental clarity I needed to do better in school. It also provided a mental escape and a way to find peace in my crazy world.
Over the years my ambitions have led me to 5 consecutive Junior Olympic Nationals, and 2 high school Cross country districts. In my senior year, I WILL compete at the state level no matter what obstacles present themselves along the way.
