Hello coaches, my name is Caden Ashworth and I am a Junior year runner at Battle Ground High School, here in Washington. I was the only freshman to make the varsity team at the beginning of my freshman year, but I was able to coach some other guys to the point where they also made varsity later in the season, as freshman. Unfortunately, I didn’t run track as a freshman, but played basketball and got stronger that way, developing some more flat out speed. My sophomore year of XC, I was able to become the second fastest on my team, only behind a one of our seniors. Currently, I am in the middle of training for my upcoming junior year of cross country. I love pushing teammates to reach their goals. I am a team player and motivator. I get to the track for the first race and don’t leave until the last race is over, so that I can cheer on my team. I work hard to achieve my goals and that won’t change when I get to college. I will work hard and always push myself to get better. I am involved in the community by helping at my Church, I have a job at a local pizza restaurant, and I was involved with Boy Scouts for several years. As a Junior, I am studying full-time at a local community college and am planning to go into physical therapy when I graduate college. Wherever I go, I will always compete and motivate others to the best of my ability. I do have some days where I’m just not feeling it, but those days only make me stronger and they have taught me to push through and endure the pain.
Thank you for your time and God bless,
-Caden Ashworth
