Starting my endeavors as a running athlete began with a broken arm just before my 7th grade football season. I had a change of heart and decided to check out cross country running the following year. Ever since I have stayed with cross country and moved into participating in track. Every year I have pushed my self in growth with learning about my form, increasing my skills in hill passing and the areas that I am weaker in. Coach Ron Lepper, my head wrestling coach and now athletic director, has inspired me to push myself physically and mentally to be the best that I can be; to strive to be strong in body, mind and spirit. His program along with my personal fitness and advance weight training classes has given me a well rounded training program. He has strong expectations that I work at to be the best student athlete and leader. Being from a small school and small community I have had to reach out to other sources to further my skills by participation in high quality camps that provide a broad spectrum of educational and medical information to support my running growth. With the reading and researching of training information I have gained skills to continue to set goals and improve my times. I have learned that I am a strong up hill runner with an efficient running form. I am excited about the opportunity to continue to run for and with a team as I pursue my educational goals.
