Daniel Chinchilla De La Cruz '25 Recruiting Profile

I didn't realize how amazing track & field could be until I played for the first time in my junior year. Once I tried pole vaulting and long jump, I was instantly hooked. Plagued by injuries and illness, I didn't get to practice, lift, or improve as much as I would've wanted. I only got to attend 3 meets this season because of that too. But in my offseason, I've been working and training every day to improve. I want to win. I want to go to districts and state. I want to win state. When I come back and start competing I want to improve. I want my PR to go up.  As an underdog, I know my chances to win are slim, but that doesn't mean I shouldn't put in effort. It's never enough for me, the competition only drives me more to perform and outwork everyone. I know to be the best I have to work harder than everyone else and that's what I'm doing. This is only possible because of the amazing people I have around me. Although I've only been part of the team for one season, I already have such a bond with many teammates, and being able to encourage and compete with each other fosters growth within us. Competition fuels me. The adrenaline I feel when my name is called up is what I chase. I want to be acknowledged and prove myself. I want to WIN. Although I don't have the money to buy my own pole or sand pit, I've been searching up drills and workouts I can do at home and I've been doing them all, so when I return this season I am ready to win.
