Growing up in a single home was very challenging for us as a family. Battling with borderline GAD, and ADHD, school was always a constant struggle for me. But my goal this year academically is to prove to myself that I can finish strong. Running track and cross country has helped me stay focused and committed; and I have learned to have more confidence in myself.
I have tried and enjoyed multiple sports through the years, but when I joined track my 8th grade year, I truly felt this is where I belonged and fit in. Winning 1st place at Regionals my Junior year for the 4x8 relay was the highlight of my high school career. I was the first leg, and in the first lap I was last, by the second lap I picked it up to come through as first handing off to my team mate. We held the lead all the way through to come in first place. It was so exciting!
I'm looking for a program that will be a good fit for me to grow as an athlete as well as academically and I'm looking forward to working with NCSA in finding that fit.
A unique random skill: My mom taught me how to play ping pong. I've become pretty good at it and can beat all my friends. But my mom still wins every time.
