Personal Statement

5-11-19 Madison Journal headline, “Herkert soars to great heights, Multi-event standout is meet’s top scorer.”  “Herkert, ranked in the Division 1 state track and field honor roll in both the pole vault and high jump, showed off his athletic ability by also participating in the 110 high hurdles and, for the first time in his career, the 300 intermediate hurdles at the Big Eight Conference meet.”  “Herkert was the meet’s high scorer with 34 points.”  “It’ll go down as one of the best individual Wildcat track and field performances of all time,” Verona coach Joff Pedretti said.  “It’s insane.”

I am a 2019 three sport athlete, interested in pole vault/high jump/hurdles/ multi events in college while working towards a degree in Computer Science.  My brother Jack is a sophomore multi event/high jump/long jump/hurdler at Stanford University, and my brother Shane is an all conference defenseman junior captain on the lacrosse team at Monmouth College.  I completed my first decathlon this summer.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
