I am the youngest of three brothers and have watched my brothers go through difficult times in their lives; which has given me the insight to truly see the effects of what people's actions have on others. I reach out with encouragement to those who struggle and who need support when others walk away. I ensure those on my team who do not have adequate food are brought a sandwich or an extra water. Simple gestures of kindness can empower people in ways they never knew existed.
I began track and field in the 8th grade running hurdles, sprints and relays. My freshman year I was on the varsity indoor track team running 55m hurdles and sprints. I was also on the varsity outdoor track team. My sophomore year I was also on the varsity indoor and outdoor track teams running the 300m hurdles, 400m, sprint medley and the 4x400. I also competed in the long and triple jumps. My team took 1st in state for the sprint medley and 3rd for the 4x400 relays for the indoor track season. During the outdoor track finals I qualified in four events (triple jump, sprint medley, 4x400 and 300m hurdles); placing 3rd in the state for the 4x400 and 5th in the state for the sprint medley (setting a new school record).
I am looking to studying criminology or sports marketing in college and keeping my grades up. I want to continue to push myself and those around me to come together as a strong team and strive for championships. Being part of a positive and motivated team is where I want to be.
