I graduated in 2018, but put 2020 because this August I am leaving to France to serve a two year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (aka "the Mormons"). I feel strongly about this decision and I am excited to learn the French language and live among the French people and learn from them and their culture. During this time I am keeping my recruiting options open and can be contacted at [email protected].
Upon my return in the summer of 2020 I will enroll in college and begin the next phase of my volleyball career. I plan to build upon the success of my senior year of high school. My volleyball, football and wrestling teams all won their state championships. I was selected as first team all-state in all three sports -- as an outside hitter, linebacker and wrestler in the 170's. And I was award the MVP of the state championship volleyball game. I was also given my high school's honor as "male athlete of the year".
Although I am a self-starter and very driven, I'm calm and relaxed under pressure. I perform at my very best when the pressure is highest. But I'm not high-strung, either. I love floating on surfboard for hours on end and hanging out with friends doing nothing, as much as I like the intense pressure of the waning moments of a volleyball game.
I can't wait for these next phases of my life. First, my mission. And, second, volleyball. I'm very blessed to have fallen in love with volleyball at a young age and the many opportunities it has given me in life and the doors it has opened. It invigorates me and inspires me to love and live life at its fullest. In college, I plan to devote all of my energy on volleyball and take my volleyball game to an even higher level.
