2021 Highlights Personal Statement
My name is Derrick Vargas an I’m in the class of 2022 at Cienega High school.
I really got into volleyball competitively my freshman year. Prior to that I had played basketball for the majority of my life. I never thought I would enjoy a sport more than I did basketball. When I made the switch to playing volleyball I instantly fell in love with the sport. I love the comradery and energy that I feel while playing. I will always put my education first but I have an endless passion for this sport that I use to bring a different level of energy and competition. I can promise that I will offer consistent play and energy on any team that I play for.
