My coaches have called me the swiss army knife. Before my junior year of high school, I played nearly every position on the court. I played DS and trained for setter for a over a year before setteling into my positions as oppo hitter where I really started to develop. I consider myself very knowledgable about the game of volleyball. Playing most positions on the court I am able to react effectively. I can quickly read the other side of the court and know where to be offensive and defensive in my play.
I have always loved volleyball since I first started. I value the work ethic that it is given me and the ability to see growth in my skills day to day. Even if it doesn't seem like it at the moment, setting both short and long term goals, motivates me to achieve more. Although I'm not the tallest on the court, this has encouraged me to learn to succeed using my understanding of people's position on the court and quickly picking up on opponents weaknesses and strengths to gain a competitive advantage. I am coachable and I am always interested in becoming a better player and teammate and my effort in practice is only exceeded by my effort during competition. My perseverance has always shown through. From having coaches kick me out of the gym for the janitors to come in and clean, to playing every position possible to try and get as well rounded as I can, I have loved developing my game of volleyball.
Hard work and dedication has lead the way to pursuits both on and off the court. The work off the court includes constantly making sure my grades and academics are a priority and an important part of my career goals. I plan to study business in college and hope to combine this with becoming the best college volleyball player possible. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Respectfully,
Zavier A
