Growing up I have always been a competitor who loves sports. Whether it was basketball, baseball, football etc. I have always had a passion for competition and winning within sports. Throughout my early years of elementary school and middle school I was in love with basketball I couldn't get enough. If there was a club team, school or rec team I would be competing to play on it. During my middle school years I began to pick up volleyball as a hobby because I loved the competition within the sport and the thrill playing would give me. Still coming into high school I was still mostly focused on basketball even though I started playing club volleyball in 8th grade. Handling two sports in high school was difficult and took a toll on my mental health. Throughout my sophomore year playing JV basketball for an undefeated team and juggling club volleyball and varsity school volleyball all at the same time caused me to become extremely anxious and my grades completely fell. I started to lose my passion for basketball and struggled on where to go with life. After quitting basketball I began to put my all into volleyball and school raising my GPA from a 2.85 to a 3.64 in just over a year. In just over a year I increased my vertical by almost 8 inches going from not being able to touch the rim to being able to dunk easily. I am telling you all this because no matter what anyone else is doing, I will work harder and I am willing to do whatever it takes to make myself and my team better. Whether it means staying up late every night of the week studying or getting up early to get extra reps in the gym I will work harder than any other player on the volleyball court. It has become my goal and passion to play college level volleyball and I hope to make these dreams come true through ncsa!
