SF International High School (French American) in San Francisco.
I am a junior in an (IB) International Baccalaureate Dual-Language Program - graduation, 2025.
Besides playing volleyball, I am in student leadership as a grade representative in Student Council and co-lead the school debate club. During my summers, I have volunteered to do construction for the YMCA to build housing structures, and for this summer I just completed a 24-day outdoor leadership camp in Alaska through NOLS with Becket YMCA. Outside of school, I play sports year-round, eat Filipino food, play chess, and speak French daily.
As for sports highlights, I'm the team captain (3 years) and starting outside hitter on my club and varsity school teams. As a freshman varsity player for International High School, we placed second in BCL and reached the second round of NCS (North Coast Section). I was awarded MVP of my school team that year (2022). For Club, our U15 team got a bid for BJNC in Las Vegas. I was awarded All-Tournament First Team.
For the school season 2023, our team placed second in BCL Central and I was chosen for First Team (MVP runner-up). This past season we won BCL Central, 2024.
Our team reached the quarter-finals in NCS (North Coast Section) Division 4. We placed second in the Gold Division at the NorCal Invitational Varsity Tournament in San Rafael, California. I was also named MVP in my sophomore and junior year at school. For Club, we placed 2nd in the Gold Division Far Westerns Tournament in San Jose.
My dedication to volleyball is because of the fast-paced energy and the teamwork during every game. I am a strong leader; I value the overall success of the teams I play on and appreciate the optimism my team shares, win or lose.
Outside of volleyball:
Student Council 10th and 11th-grade rep;
Co-President Debate Club;
Asian Student Union;
SAAC (student-athlete advisory committee) Invitation only from the Athletics Director for all captains.
Work and volunteer:
Foster Buddy, Guide Dogs for the Blind
SF Elite Coach Training Program;
BET (Boys Elite Training) Coaching 14s;
FEP (Future Elite Program) Coaching girls 12-14s.
IHS Girls Varsity Volleyball Team Manager
I look forward to improving my skills and developing stronger bonds with my coaches and teammates. My goal is to play volleyball competitively and maintain a high GPA during college as I pursue my degree.
