"I can teach skills, but I can't teach tall" my coach said to me when I transferred into his PE class in my freshman year. I joined volleyball that semester, and that was the best decision I made in high school. Despite joining late in the season with no prior athletic experience, I fell in love with the game and worked hard towards a singular goal of improvement. This dedication paid off, and now, as a sophomore, I am on the varsity team; having only started a year earlier and with little play time on JV.
However, my commitment to volleyball is not my only priority. I also challenge myself academically, studying foreign languages as well as taking multiple Advanced Placement classes while maintaining a 4.50 GPA. Although balancing sports and academics is not always easy, I have learned to manage my time efficiently and prioritize my goals, cultivating important skills that have helped me succeed both on and off the court.
I am eager to continue my academic and athletic pursuits in college. I am searching for a university that will not only provide me with the opportunity to grow as an athlete but also challenge me academically. With my passion for volleyball and my drive to succeed in the classroom, I look forward to making a positive impact both on the court and in the classroom. Ultimately, I am excited to continue pushing myself and pursuing my goals, and I am eager to see where my journey will take me next.
