My name is Domnic Garcia, I am an incoming senior playing varsity at Excelsior Charter Schools in Victorville. I haven’t played a full season yet, but have trained rigorously for the past 2 years to achieve a 10’2 vertical jump, 9’9 block jump, and improve my Volleyball fundamentals and team play as much as possible with the little amount of resources available to me due to my location (the High Desert of California). I will play Middle Blocker as my main position and Outside Hitter as my secondary in the upcoming season. I have prioritized volleyball over anything except family in my life and do not plan on wavering. I started the Intramural Volleyball Club with Sultana High School, taking charge as president, coaching the club and improving my own skills in the process, eventually inspiring the beginning of a yearly school-wide volleyball tournament at the school, and the introduction of Mens Volleyball as a sport available through CIF for the school in upcoming years, confirmed by the women’s volleyball coach at Sultana High School. I would have stayed at the school to pursue an elevated academic plan through the AP’s available there, as I found I excelled in them during my first semester, achieving a 4.5 weighted GPA with 4 AP classes and 2 standard classes, but decided to transfer to Excelsior to pursue my volleyball career and continue my academic excellence by attending the local college through Dual Enrollment. I have high hopes for the upcoming season for my own personal growth and for my contributions to the team, inquiring about fundraising for higher level volleyball tournaments and helping teach others who need help when possible, pushing myself and others to be the best players we can be. I am going to major in Biochemistry or Biotechnology in college, and plan to receive my masters degree in either subject through a 4-year institute after receiving my AA through Dual Enrollment.
