For the majority of my life, I was a basketball player and fully dedicated to the sport. I devoted hours of work and experienced great success. My goal was to play college basketball. Entering my freshman year of high school, I had no idea how quickly the game of volleyball would change my life! My school's volleyball coach had followed my basketball career and approached me about playing for the team. I accepted his offer just for fun and had no idea what to expect. From the moment I hit my first ball, I knew I was going to fall in love with the game. Kills, blocks, using my height, bonding with my teammates... I loved it all. I started earning awards as early as my freshman year, where I was awarded the Most Improved Player on my team. Sophomore year was when I really hit my stride, earning honors as the LA City Section Division 5 Player of the Year, as well as the Coliseum League Player of the Year. That year, our team won the Division 5 championship and competed in the state playoffs. I repeated as the league Player of the Year in my junior year. It was around this time that I became very motivated to pursue volleyball at the next level. I joined a team called West Volleyball Club in West Los Angeles and in June 2019 we competed in the Boys Junior National Championships in Dallas. While my goal is to play volleyball at the highest level, I am also a devoted student. Throughout high school, I have challenged myself with multiple honors courses while playing two varsity sports and have won the Scholar-Athlete Award five times. I am looking to find a college with both great volleyball and great academics. Throughout my athletic career, I have taken pride in being a leader on the court, but also someone who is willing to be coached and soak up as much as possible in order to get better. For anyone reading this, I would love to talk about becoming a part of your program!
