Hi! My name is Jacob Baclawski. I've been playing volleyball for about 4years and hoping for more years to come. Ever since freshman year, I have fallen in love with the game of volleyball. My strong work ethic is a big part of my personality. I'm always seeking to minimize on my weaknesses and improve my strengths. I review my tournament videos everyday to see what I can do better in the next game while balancing grades in my classes. On top of that, I work 12 or more hours each week to be able to make money to help pay for any volleyball expenses. Another big part of my personality is passion. When I set my mind to a sport I love, nobody can stop me from achieving my goal. My mindset makes me believe that I am bigger than what I actually am. As what Mark Twain once said, "It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog". This translates into my games when I see my opponent having an immense blocker or a ruthless jump server. I will try 10 times harder to play smarter and give them a challenge. Finally, my sportsmanship and social skills enhance my personality. During games, my teammates and I get stuck in a stalemate between points sometimes. I always give them confidence and energy to keep competing even if it does not go our way in that moment. Without my friendly social skills, I would not be able to gain their trust and have a 1 on 1 connection. I also highly respect my opponents. They always push me to do things I initially did not think I was able to do. They allow me to gain better experiences and become the best I can be.
My goal is to consistently improve upon myself, encourage my teammates and play my hardest for your college or university. You will not regret the decision to recruit me. I will put in all my effort into your team, as well as succeed academically. Thank you for taking your time out of your day to read this.
