I picked up a volleyball for the first time the summer going into my freshman year. A few of my sister’s friends were playing outdoors and needed an extra. I grew up a soccer guy, spending every day at a field either for myself or my older sister, but after that afternoon I immediately fell in love with the game.
Sports have always been a constant part of my life. From basketball to club soccer to baseball, I was always playing something and sometimes in the same day. I have forged most of my friendships through sports and learned valuable life skills like teamwork, leadership and communication.
When moving to Connecticut in the summer before fourth grade, sports again came to the rescue. My mom signed me up for summer camps including flag football and club soccer. Being new in town is never easy, but sports is a great equalizer and has always helped me make new friends and work through hard times.
As a student-athlete in high school, I work diligently to manage my time effectively. I would like to focus on Health Sciences - potentially Physical Therapy - as a major in college and realize this is highly demanding. I’m very drawn to helping others and very much enjoy volunteering for Unified Sports at my high school when possible
