I played volleyball for fun since the fourth grade and never thought to try out for a team until 7th grade. I didn't make the team in middle school but I still continued to play for fun because I enjoyed playing volleyball. When I was a sophomore, I found out from a friend when tryouts were and I started going to the open gyms to train for the season. I learned things very quickly and I was able to make the junior varsity volleyball team. Our season was cut 4 games in because of COVID, but during that season is when I realized I have a lot of potential to be a good player. So I tried out and made a club team over the summer and played during the beginning of my junior year. I was struggling during the first part of the season but I continued to keep practicing. I made the varsity team my junior year and had the best season of my life. It was then I realized that I could go far with this sport, so I continue to train to get better and better. I have developed a genuine love for the sport and aspired to keep training myself to be better. It would be a dream for me to keep playing in college because I know that if I train and apply the skills necessary to get better then I could be a great player in college.
