I have always thought of myself as a student before an athlete. Despite the importance of Volleyball in my life, when it comes to my primary focus and college decisions, my academics come first. That is why I have always strived to take the most rigorous classes possible, currently having a 4.45 weighed GPA, passed over a dozen honors classes, 3 AP courses, and will be taking 4 AP classes in my Junior year plus Dual Enrollment. I am a dedicated member in my coding club as well as an active competitor on my school’s debate team, where I have competed in multiple national tournaments and have been awarded medals in over 10 tournaments.
That being said, Volleyball has been a huge passion in my life for the past 5 years. I started in 6th grade, and have always loved the sport. I have been the starting Setter/Opposite on my high school varsity team since freshman year, and I am currently the starting Opposite on my club team (MVP Academy 16s Fire) which qualified for nationals in Reno, Nevada this year as one of the top 32 teams in the nation, but was unfortunately cancelled due to Covid. I am aware that I still have much to improve upon and have dedicated myself to bettering my game every day. I hope to use my passion for Volleyball as a way to get me into the University that fits me the best academically as my ultimate goal. I believe I would make a great addition to a college team not only because of my dedication and willingness to improve, but also my prospects as a student.
