My name is AyJa Miller, and I am a 6’0 setter from Honolulu, HI. I will graduate from Kamehameha Kapālama High School in 2022. I plan to join a 4-year college program after high school, and it has been my dream to play at the college level of volleyball ever since I started playing in fourth grade. I started my club journey when I was 13. I joined a club called Pure Aloha. I have been playing with Pure Aloha for about 5 years now. We travel all around the state to compete in local tournaments. We were fortunate enough to win one of the bigger local tournaments called Winter Bash in 2019. My team also traveled to Nationals in Kansas City in 2021. On every single one of my teams I have been the leader and I take great pride in that. I strive to make my teammates and I the best we can be. I love having a sense of pressure on me in close matches when playing because it really makes my impact on the game noticeable as a setter. I hate losing so I am determined to find every way possible to help and to contribute to getting my team that win. I also try to be the best I can be off the court as well. I am a 3.1 student and I participate in my high school varsity volleyball and basketball. I also played tennis but only at the JV level. Growing up I did Martial Arts which taught me discipline, respect, dedication, hard work, and responsibility. I stuck with it and I became the youngest black belt in my dojang. I also try to help in my community as much as possible like beach clean ups and highway clean ups. I will most likely be playing with my Pure Aloha 18U teammates this January in the Boys Qualifier Tournament in Anaheim. I would like to let you have a chance to see me in action. That would show you much more than I could say. Thank you for your time and attention. I look forward to learning more about your program.
