Peter Soczewka '23 Recruiting Profile

My name is Peter Soczewka and I am 17 years old. I was born and raised in England, but both my parents are Polish therefore I have two nationalities Polish and English.

Currently, I play as an outside hitter for IBB Polonia, top D1  team in the English league. I am also a part of youth's indoors national team. In addition I am part of men's beach volleyball team where I compete in various international competitions.

I am considered as the best player of my age group in the UK being supported by the Sports Aid and GLL Sports Foundations. 

I have been trained from a very young age as my dad is volleyball coach (coaching England junior beach volleyball team). I have also been part of high-performance national talent program for the past 4 years and competed internationally over 50 times including European championships (multiple times in different age categories )

I have always competed 2-3 years above my age group (also internationally) and debuted in national senior division of English volleyball at the age of 14.

Previously before taking volleyball on a “full-time basis”, I have been swimming competitively. I started at the age of 4 and trained up to 8 times a week for 10 years. I was member of Swim England national program and finished 4^th at British national Championships at 50 fly. I am also multiple regional and county Champion ( 100fly, 200 fly, 100 free, 400 free,  200 IM, 400 IM)

My dream is studying in the USA because is definitely the best way to combine my studies with the sport that I love, volleyball. I also strongly believe that studying in the North America will help me bring my game to the next level so i can pursue my dream of becoming professional volleyball player and one day compete in polish Plus Liga

I am a very passionate athlete that enjoys each aspect of the game. I am ready to work with each and every individual member of the team so we pull out the best result

I am looking forward working with a group of great coaches and talented players and I am ready to help them fulfill the team's potential
