Short story:
9th grade - JV MVP as outside hitter
10th grade - Varsity Starter / joined an adult club youth program and quickly made it to the senior team as a second libero (the team came second in the league and playoffs)
11th grade - Varsity Started, undefeated season vs U19 (only lost 4 sets the whole season) / ISSEA All-Star team / Fighting for starting position in the adult club
Long story:
In my freshmen year I won my team's MVP as an outside hitter. When I was in 10th grade I became a libero because of the team's needs. I went through a lot of specialised practice and started becoming more aware what was needed from a libero.
In 10th grade we won several tournaments but lost ISSEA in the finals, our biggest school tournament. To prevent another hurtful defeat, 3 teammates and I joined an adult volleyball club called Quantum. This is the second best team of the region according to last years standings, luckily for me they had a youth development program.
Due to my commitment and my fast learning ability I improved at an incredibly fast rate. In 4 months I became the 2nd libero for the first team, and played full time in 2 open tournaments when the first libero couldn't make it. I gained a lot of experience that could easily be compare to higher level volleyball college.
In 11th grade my high school team won everything, not a single game lost against U19 teams. We won ISSEA without dropping a set, 3 of my teammates, including myself, were awarded with the All-Star Team medal. I now star in half of the games and I'm about to take over the starting position for my club Quantum.
