I am a hardworking player who strives to get better every day. I started playing volleyball in seventh grade and have loved it ever since. I work well on a team and can lead effectively. I also understand how to take constructive criticism from my teammates and coaches to help me get better as a player and as a person. During every practice I work hard and give 100% effort all the times. My ultimate goal is to play at the college level so I work to attain that every day.
When I am not trying to become a better player, I am trying to be a better person. I volunteer and do many hours of community service. My favorite is volunteering as a Junior Board member and a "buddy" for the Miracle League. For the past eight seasons I've helped a little girl with down syndrome play baseball on a custom designed field adapted to fit players with special needs. It is a great experience that has made me more patient, understanding and kind. I also enjoy doing service projects for local military families on every holiday. At age 15 I was awarded a $500 grant. I used the money to purchase pillowcases. Deployed soldiers sent me a photo of themselves and I placed the photo on a pillowcase which was given to the deployed soldiers' child. The pillowcases provide comfort to young children who have to go to sleep each night without their parent.
I believe that my experiences on and off of the court have motivated and inspired me to become the person I wish to be.
