Owen Freiss '18 Recruiting Profile

My career in volleyball started in 7th grade and volleyball was a new thing to me because it was the first year that it was offered as a sport. Ever since then i have been working as hard as i can to help not only make myself better but also to make the whole team better. I've been playing volleyball for 4 years and I am in my 5th year now.  Through my experiences as a volleyball player so far i have learned that it is never about yourself when your on or off the court, I have learned that everyone on the team has to be striving and willing to work as hard as they can to be the best. I have been told by coaches that I am a very hard worker, that I am very coach able because when I have been told to do something different because it will make me better, I have done it, I have pushed myself to help the team get better. I have also been told that I am a natural leader on and off the court because I am always trying to help both younger and older guys learn more about the game and get better both on and off the court. My dream goals for college is to play volleyball, I am 100% committed to playing volleyball in college whether it be walk on, or i get recruited. I want to make sure that in college I am able to do the thing that i love and that is volleyball but i will also focus on school more because I am a student athlete and that will not change no matter what. I am willing to push myself through thick and thin to make my life better on and off the court, especially in school and all of my classes.
