Hello My name is Dylan Burgess. I am a Junior at Saint Francis School in Carolina Puerto Rico with a 3.4 GPA. My Graduation year is 2020. I am a 6'3 Opposite/ Middle Blocker in the Varsity team at Saint Francis School in Carolina PR. I live in San Juan Puerto Rico with my Mother, Father and 2 sisters. I really never played sports other than bowling from age 8 to 10 until I was in 8th grade when I started in Saint Francis School. The Volleyball coach saw me at the school grounds and because I was tall he invited me to the volleyball tryouts. I was really bad at it at first, having never played before, but I fell in love with it instantly. From then another coach saw me play at another school and invited me to join the Borinquen Coqui Volleyball Club 14U team and I was hooked. I practiced almost every day, even at home on the days I did not had practice. The next year I made the 15U travel team and got a scholarship at school, with that team we went to Chicago Il and won the Winter Championship Bid Qualifier and went to Columbus OH to play in the 2017 Boys Junior Nationals. We came up short of the goal but it was a very good learning experience. On the 16U travel team, we went to the Dennis Lafatta Bid Classic in St. Louis MO and came in 2nd place and got our bid to play at the 2018 Boy Junior Nationals in Phoenix AZ. At the 2018 BJNC in Phoenix AZ we came in 2nd place, Silver medal, in the 16U open division gold bracket. I love the sport and all that comes with it. it gives you a good physical condition, it keep you focus mentally and it gets you some great friends on your teammates and coaches. I am the type of player that would give my team 100% all the time from practice to game time in the starting lineup or as a roll player, energetic, passionate, and respectful and always willing to learn. my moto is you never stop learning and you can always get better. I look forward to graduating high school and going to a good University to further my education. My aspiration is that it has a great volleyball program where I can continue to pursue my goal which is to have a chance to earn a scholarship and become a student/athlete at the highest level.
