Coen Giles '26 Recruiting Profile

I am a 2026 setter who is a driven, hardworking, team-oriented individual with a deep love and commitment to Volleyball and becoming the best, I can be, both on and off the court.  For the past 3 years I have made the Vermont state Elite travel volleyball team (VIBE) as a setter.  For the last 2 years I was on the VIBE U18 team at the age of 15 and 16 respectively and prior to that was on VIBE U16 when I was 14.  While playing on the Varsity team for Essex High School for the last three years coming in as a freshman setter, I have been a starter and was selected for the Vermont state First team Allstate.  For my varsity team I was also given the award for most Aces and Assists for the last 3 years running, and I had the second most kills this past season.  In 2024 as a sophomore, my Coach also awarded me the "Love of the Game" award because of my commitment, dedication and passion for Volleyball and continually striving to better myself.  This year as Captain of my 18-club/open team, I am responsible for calling plays, helping direct and adjust to the play as needed, while also playing other positions on the team when needed in order to do what is best for the team at each tournament. Volleyball is a mental sport as much if not more than it is physical and I spend a lot of free time studying games and tape to better myself and help better my team.

I am looking for a school that can allow me the opportunity to earn my degree while also continuing my pursuit to becoming the best player I can be and to reach my full potential with a Coach and a team who all work together to support one another.
