James DeWitt '23 Recruiting Profile

My name is James DeWitt, thank you for taking a moment to read how I can help your program. My goal is to play water polo at the collegiate level. I can benefit your team with my strategic, competitive awareness in the pool by finding the best opportunities for goals and the positioning of the opponents. I also benefit by my teamwork and selflessness by looking for the open player to score a better goal. I can offer things that differ from other recruits such as my character. As a Christian I believe in being kind to everyone and helping others with leadership, but also being strongly determined, for example in a game situation where my team was losing I made sure my team focused on playing hard and giving it their best until the game is over. My background in other sports helps water polo. I have played basketball, soccer, and football and those sports have helped me with my knowledge and awareness. Academics are very important to me because I believe hard work and success in academics carry on into sports to shape great players. I’ve worked hard to maintain a 4.0 gpa, hard work and determination has helped me excel in this sport. Thank you for your time, I look forward to hearing from you.
