Vaughn Miguel '24...Personal Statement
I started swimming competitively at the age of six and have been playing water polo since I was 10 years old. I really enjoy water polo and have found that the best players have a combination of size, speed, strength, and smarts. I possess all those characteristics and am determined to continue my water polo development at the collegiate level.
I have been told that I am very coachable, and pride myself on being the hardest working player in the tank. I have strong ball handling skills, good swim times, and a high water polo IQ. For all those reasons, I would be a strong addition to any collegiate water polo program.
In the classroom, I study hard to maintain a high GPA while enrolled in an aggressive mix of STEM and AP classes. I am also a member of my San Marin High School Mock Trial team.
I want to attend a college that is known for both academic and water polo excellence. I am open to all options and want to find the right college match where I can compete at a high level playing the game I love while preparing for life beyond the classroom and the pool.
