Three years ago, I tried club waterpolo for a month, and decided not to continue since I wanted to play football in high school. However, after playing football freshman year, I realized it was not the right atmosphere for me, and that I would play a different sport sophomore year. Urged on by my previous club coaches, I signed up for waterpolo. I was the lead scorer of my JV team, and was brought up to varsity to play carousel and CIF games. Throughout the season, I was enthusiastic for every game, and truly enjoyed the sport and its overall environment. My teammates and coaches were supportive, and that helped me to further myself as a player. I take the role of a leader in the pool, communicating with my teammates and coordinating plays. I also don’t lose my temper, and keep my cool regardless of the situation. As a student, I balance my work and sports well. I maintain a GPA of well above 3.0, and I take mostly honors and AP classes. Going into college, I am focused on attending a top tier academic school, however I would really like to play waterpolo and contribute to my school’s community by being a dedicated member of a team. I hope I am able to attend my dream school, and further my abilities as a waterpolo player.
