Being a water polo goalie has given me extensive experience in learning to handle things being thrown at you in the pool and in life. One might not always expect a lob or nearside-skip when you're playing, and the same goes for outside the pool.
Being a water polo goalie is about committing to proper training, trusting your instincts, and communicating efficiently. ‘My personal motto for high school is “ Academics & Athletics.” I have been able to create an impact on teams and be successful in the classroom by focusing on these two elements. The balance between the school work and pool is imperative and I strive to challenge myself in the classroom just as much as in the water (or on the field with lacrosse). Managing rigorous academic coursework and intense athletic training is something that I am proud of and would like to continue in college by playing water polo. The commitment, dedication and work that goes into being an integral player on an athletic team translate into my ability to focus on my studies.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
